Picture of phytoplankton lighting up the sea
Today, as I was waiting for my housemate to come up to go to the grocery store. I got these pictures in my head--a still sea with glimmers of blue light, the whole thing lit up from the water itself. I have seen pictures of this phenomenon on earth from unique creatures called phytoplankton. When the water is stirred, these plankton light up the water until it glows (google it). Could this be like the pavement like lapis lazuli that Moses saw Exodus 24:10? Or Ezekiel in v. 1:26? Or what John describes as what looked like water mingled with fire in Revelation 4:6 & 15:2? On the one hand I thought, "is this just vain imagination?" But on the other hand, I had this deep sense of awe & the presence of the Lord that made the rest of the day feel special & the people around me even more meaningful.
It's been a fog of a few months and it's little pictures like this that make me actually feel most like myself. I feel His Presence and all of a sudden, I feel relaxed, the anxiety I feel from time to time disappears & I just feel like myself--quiet, at rest with a goofy smile on my face. Not worried about what is coming next or what anyone around me is doing, yet strangely more interested in their lives and in their hearts.
While on the way back from Walmart, driving through the tunnels of trees on Blue River Road in Kansas City. I pictured close friends next to me on this sea, their wives, their kids & all of my family around me witnessing what the Lord was going to do next.
What is He going to do next (now) and what is He going to do next (after Revelation 15:2)? I'm excited to see.
